Katie May Boyd and Charlotte Kidger are designers with 10 years experience in materials across the design industry spanning CMF, R&D, strategy, the Circular Economy, textiles, public art, sculpture, product, transport and furniture. Over the last decade Katie and Charlotte have worked with clients such as Nike, Google, Adidas, Browns, IDEO, seymourpowell, Ministry of Justice, Selfridges, COS, Soho House and the Olympic Games.

MANIFESTO

At Studio TIP we believe that in the post-industrial world, western society has developed a broken relationship with materials. This breakdown contributes to our loss of connection with the earth and the materials that build the infrastructure of our modern lives. Within our work we want to explore how we rebuild this broken relationship and what this dialogue looks like in a world of contemporary, industrial materials. We aim to make positive, tangible and pragmatic material solutions that are equally accessible and inspiring for both local and global communities and wider industries.

WEBSITE DESIGN

This website was designed with Sophie Troppmair using low-carbon digital design approaches:

[Compressed Images]
Keeping file size and download to a minimum, no video or animation, all our images are radically reduced in size by using a dithering process or smaller file formats.

[System Fonts]
We’ve tried to limit download all over the site, to achieve this we’ve used only system fonts (Arial and Times New Roman) throughout the site, which already exist on devices and do not need to be downloaded.
