CIRCULAR FREE PLAY PROJECT
Studio TIP’s Circular Free Play project is a series of ongoing creative workshops available to children and adults across the UK.
Working predominantly with material surplus from manufacturing industries we teach circular economy and reuse principles through the act of playful making.
With no brief or set intention, intuition, curiosity and imagination are left to run free, your hands are left to explore. The only rule is no glue, instead materials are collaged, assembled and abstracted to create mini sculptural forms.
A key principle of the circular economy is repair and disassembly, allowing products to be adapted and improved. Through the no-glue rule, the workshop passively teaches design for disassembly, encouraging creative joining methods.
Each session highlights a unique palette from our partners and collaborators in the UK and includes a material library with information detailing each material included in the workshop.
Embracing natural creativity our sessions aim to provide a meditative approach to thinking through making and offer an opportunity for art-making that can be attended by everyone.
Workshops can be held in community spaces, schools, institutions or as corporate team workshops. Sessions are flexible from 30 mins to 2 hours, and can be adapted for children or adults.
